STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-11-05 (Week 45) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 44 (Oct 28 - Nov 3) * On day 304 (Oct 30), during the DSS-26 support, DSN successfully updated the real-time telemetry delivery table to provide the MOC with VC6 telemetry in real-time. The MOC now receives real-time VC6 and VC7 data via the IONET. Adding the real-time VC6 data delivery to the MOC will be beneficial during FDS/IDR file delivery problems or internet issues that prevents IDR file delivery via the DMZ. * On day 305 (Oct 31), during the DSS-63 support, the transmitter was declared red, due to a hardware problem. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 3.9 hours of real-time commanding and 2- way tracking data. Also, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 05:21 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 40 frames of SSR data. Without the uplink, the MOPs team could not reposition the SSR pointers, which caused a one second data loss for IMPACT and PLASTIC. See DR #M117446 for more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 7.1 Gbits during this week. Week 45 (Nov 4-10) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Wednesday, November 6th, Parker Solar Probe has a Venus flyby, and Solar Orbiter will be collecting observations for a full-disk mosaic. * An ESA New Norcia track is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, from 02:35 to 03:40 UT. Week 46 (Nov 11-17) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * APL will be closed on Monday, November 11 for the Veterans Day holiday. Week 47 (Nov 18-24) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * There is a DSN network maintenance event scheduled for Wednesday, November 20, from 10:25 to 14:25 UT. Week 48 (Nov 25-Dec 01) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 172nd momentum dump is scheduled for Tuesday, November 26th, with ignition at 20:15 UT. * APL will be closed November 28th and 29th for the Thanksgiving holiday. Week 49 (Dec 02-08) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 50 (Dec 09-15) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The seventeenth battery discharge event is scheduled for Monday, December 9th, at 18:40 UT. * The 73rd SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Friday, December 13th, at 15:50 UT.
