STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-08-13 (Week 33) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 32 (Aug 5-11) * On day 218 (Aug 5), during the DSS-54 support, the IDR telemetry data file transfer failed for the last two VC6 and VC7 files at 0615 UT. This failure likely was related to the DSN Network maintenance that started at 0630 UT. The MOPs team manually FTP’d the IDR telemetry files and reprocessed the level-0 data for day 218 to recover all the affected data. *On day 218 (Aug 5), DSN conducted a Mission Network maintenance from 0630 UT through 1430 UT. After the maintenance, the MOPs team verified the SLE telemetry and command connectivity with DSN. * On day 220 (May 2), APL network engineers successfully conducted the network infrastructure upgrade from 0000 UT to 0100 UT without affecting the MOC DMZ network. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 7.5 Gbits during this week. Week 33 (Aug 12-18) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * During a track on Monday, August 12, two and a half hours of real time and commanding data was lost. The team was later able to recover all of the in situ data, resulting in a net loss of about two hours of data. Additional details will be available at next week's meeting. * The 169th momentum dump was successfully conducted on Tuesday, August 13th, with ignition at 13:00 UT. All systems were functioning normally following the dump. * On Wednesday, August 14th, a DSS-65 track will be shadowing a DSS-55 track from 06:45 to 10:40 UT. * On Wednesday, August 14th, a MOC IONET security scan is scheduled from 13:00 to 14:00 UT. Week 34 (Aug 19-25) * Ahead has nine passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * An ESA Cebreros track is scheduled for Wednesday, August 14, from 05:20 to 05:55 UT. * On Thursday, September 19, from 15:00 to 20:10 PLASTIC will use real time commanding to increase MCP voltage levels. Week 35 (Aug 26-Sep 1) * Ahead has nine passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Wednesday, August 28th, a DSN network maintenance event is scheduled from 15:00 to 23:00 UT. Week 36 (Sep 2-8) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 37 (Sep 9-15) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 72nd SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Thursday, September 12th, at 12:40 UT. Week 38 (Sep 16-22) * Ahead has nine passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17th, from 10:00 to 11:45 UT.
