STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-07-09 (Week 28) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 27 (July 1-7) * On day 184 (Jul 2), during the DSS-53 support, the transmitter was declared red, due to a hardware problem. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 3.9 hours of real-time commanding and 2-way tracking data. See DR #M117086 for more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.9 Gbits during this week. Week 28 (July 8-14) * Ahead has nine passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * A DSN network maintenance event was completed overnight Monday, July 8, with no negative impacts. * The 168th momentum dump is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, with ignition at 18:05 UT. * An additional ESA Cebreros track has been requested for Sunday, July 14, from 07:10 to 08:25 UT, due to light weekend coverage. The additional track will be added to the schedule once approved. Week 29 (July 15-21) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Wednesday, July 17th, an ESA Cebreros track is scheduled from 08:55 to 11:00 UT. Week 30 (July 22-28) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 31 (July 29-Aug 4) * Ahead has eight passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 32 (Aug 5-11) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * A DSN maintenance event is scheduled for Monday, August 5 (day 218) between 06:30 and 15:30 UT (2:30-11:30 EDT). * On Wednesday, August 7, a DMZ internet outage is scheduled from 23:00 - 00:00 UT, due to a firewall update. All instrument teams should verify connectivity following this outage. Week 33 (Aug 12-18) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Wednesday, August 8, a DSS-65 track will be shadowing a DSS-55 track from 06:40 to 10:40 UT.
