STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-05-28 (Week 22) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 21 (May 20-26) * On day 141 (May 20), during the DSS-55 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0514z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 92 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. See DR #M116977 for more information. * On day 143 (May 22), during the DSS-84 (ESA Malargue) support, the beginning of track was delayed three minutes until 0753z, due to a late SLE Telemetry Bind between DSN and ESA. This anomaly resulted in the loss of three minutes of real-time telemetry and SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the track and recovered all the affected data. * On day 144 (May 23), during the DSS-53 support, the uplink was not available between 0330z and 0345z, due to a transmitter issue. This anomaly resulted in the loss of fifteen minutes of commanding, 2-way tracking, and 2157 frames of SSR data. After the uplink was reestablished, the MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers and recovered all of the affected data. See DR #M116986 for more information. * On days 146-147 (May 25-26), APL conducted a commercial power outage maintenance from 146-1000z through 147-2200z. The MOC operated on generator power during the outage with no negative impact. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.6 Gbits during this week. Week 22 (May 27-Jun 2) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * APL was closed on Monday, May 27, for the Memorial Day holiday. * The 167th momentum dump is scheduled for Friday, May 31, with ignition at 18:30 UT. Week 23 (Jun 3-9) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The DMZ has a planned internet outage on Thursday, June 6, from 00:00 to 01:00 UT. Instrument teams should verify connectivity after the outage. * On Thursday, June 6, a MOC IONET security scan is scheduled from 17:00 to 18:00 UT. Week 24 (Jun 10-16) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 25 (Jun 17-23) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 71st SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Tuesday, June 18th at 13:25 UT. * On Thursday, June 20, an ESA New Norcia track is scheduled from 23:10 UT to 01:10 UT on June 21. Week 26 (Jun 24-30) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The sixteenth battery discharge event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25, at 14:40 UT. * Parker Solar Probe's 20th perihelion pass runs from June 26 to July 8. Week 27 (July 1-7) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal.
